Hi! My name is Shelly, welcome to my lil scrap spot blog!
As you can tell it is really about scrapbooking for me. I love scrapbooking! I am so very very passionate about creating a lasting legacy for generations to come to view. Its hit me extra hard in the last year as I became a grandmother twice over. I have a beautiful grandson named Braedan and gorgeous granddaughter named Kyleigh. While I was raising my children, I never thought there could ever be a better feeling then being a mom, and then the most wonderful thing happened. My daughter gave me a grandson. I have never in my life felt anything like this. It is the most wonderful feeling on earth. Then later that same year, my oldest son gave me a granddaughter. Oh how could my heart hold anymore love!!
I have had an amazing time.
I love my family and friends passionatly. I wouldnt trade anything for them, yes we have some bad times, but its all worth it.
I hope you like the posts I create here and will come back and share things with me also.

Happy Saturday!

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all are have a very safe and happy Memorial Day Weekend surrounded by friends and loved ones!
Today I want to show you a small thank you card made with items from my Close To Your Heart products. This is the cutest little thank you card I have made so far. It's just so cheery and cute, I'm sure you are going to love this and are going to want to make one to give for your next thank you note!


Products needed are:
white card stock- 4 3/4" x 6" folded to make a 4 3/4" x 3" card base
Animal Cookies paper pack using the Dutch Blue- 4 3/4" x 3"
red card stock- 1" x 3"
light brown card stock- 3" x 2"
white card stock- 2 3/4" x 1 3/4"

Cranberry, Olive, and Desert Sand Ink Pads

To make card:
Start with white card stock card base.Top the front of the card with your Dutch Blue Animal Cookies patterened paper (4 3/4" x 3").
Place your red card stock piece (1" x 3") 1 3/4" from the top, keeping it flush with the left side.
Place your brown card stock piece (3" x 2") 3/4" from top, and 1/4" from right side.
Make your tree piece.
To do this:
Using Olive ink pad, stamp the large tree twice on the back of a piece of Animal Cookies Dutch Blue Paper. Trim around outside of one tree top, and just inside the other tree top.
Using the Desert Sand ink pad, stamp the large tree again, this time on a white piece of card stock and cut out just the tree trunk.
To assemble this part of card, take your white card stock piece (2 3/4" x 1 3/4"), add the tree trunk in the middle with the bottom of the trunk flush with the bottom of card stock piece.
Add your tree tops to the trunk (first the outside trimmed piece, then the inside trimmed piece). To embellish tree top, add 3 small blue buttons, and 1 red buttons from the Summer Buttons set. From the Mini Medley set place 4 flower shaped brads into tree top.
Once you have all of your embellishments in place, take the tree and place it on the brown card stock.
Stamp the Thank You from the Fringed Phrases stamp set in cranberry ink. Trim close to stamped image and place on your card.
