About me

Hi! My name is Shelly, welcome to my lil scrap spot blog!
As you can tell it is really about scrapbooking for me. I love scrapbooking! I am so very very passionate about creating a lasting legacy for generations to come to view. Its hit me extra hard in the last year as I became a grandmother twice over. I have a beautiful grandson named Braedan and gorgeous granddaughter named Kyleigh. While I was raising my children, I never thought there could ever be a better feeling then being a mom, and then the most wonderful thing happened. My daughter gave me a grandson. I have never in my life felt anything like this. It is the most wonderful feeling on earth. Then later that same year, my oldest son gave me a granddaughter. Oh how could my heart hold anymore love!!
I have had an amazing time.
I love my family and friends passionatly. I wouldnt trade anything for them, yes we have some bad times, but its all worth it.
I hope you like the posts I create here and will come back and share things with me also.
Ive just become a Close To My Heart Independent Consultant! We have beautiful products that making scrapbooking and stamping faster, easier, simpler....just ask me how! It's a beautiful Monday!

Happy Monday!!!
Here in Indiana the sun is shining brightly and the weather is gorgeous!
I haven't been ignoring my blog I promise, just been super busy getting tons of layouts done for my camping trip this week as well as a very cute card!

All of the projects today feature CTMH's Back Country Paper Packs and Stickease Assortments. I will be featuring these products and more at my open house on June 20.
So here is the fun stuff!

This is the cute lil card I mentioned before! Very very easy and quick to make!
You will need the following items to make this card:
Back Country Level 2 Paper Pack
Back Woods Stamp Set
Olive and Barn Red Ink Pads
2 copper brads

To make this project, start with a card base in the Barn Red cardstock cut to 5" x 3 1/2". Fold in half. When you assemble the card, make sure your fold is on the left side.
Pc A- Striped B&T Duos paper cut to 3 1/2" x 3 1/2".
Pc B- Outdoor Denim Blue cardstock cut to 2" x 1 1/2"
Stamp your tree with Olive Ink on a piece of Colonial White Cardstock. I used a second generation stamping. Over this tree, stamp the dotted overlay of tree in Olive ink, use a first generation stamp image for this. Then stamp the trunk of the tree in Barn Red. Cut out this image to adhere to card upon assembly.
To assemble card:
Attach pc A to left side of card, keeping edges flush.
Attach pc B to center of card, keeping 1/2" from the top.
Attach your stamped tree image with pop dots and place in center of pc B.
Attach your copper brads to the right of pc B.
Stamp the sentiment Grow Together in bottom right hand corner in Barn Red Ink.
Your card is ready for giving!

I will post the other layouts I have finished a bit later.

Until then,
Have a Blessed Day
&
Happy Scrappin!

Family visit/vacation

Just got back from a small family vacation/family visit. I went to Mississippi with my father, sister, nephew and grandson to see family I havn't seen in almost 4 years. Some I havn't seen in over 20 years. It's very hard when life happens to see everyone in your extended family....especially one whole branch of your family tree lives in another state.
I had a wonderful time reconnecting with "lost" family members. And thanks to the internet, we don't have to stay disconnected anymore!
I hope everyone has enjoyed this last week and lots of great things have come your way!
I will be posting a small card later today, so come back for that!

Oh!!! BIG NEWS!!! Please check out my CTMH website....every day in June there is a different sale item with special shipping charges applied. I will post a link to it also, but you really dont want to miss out on the everyday goodies! It's like Christmas all over again!! Only this time, you get what you really want! ;)

Until later,
Have a Blessed Day
&
Happy Scrappin

Tip/Technique Tuesday

Well today was a very busy day! I was just accepted into nursing school and I have a ton of paperwork that I need to get done as well as a physical and a background check, and I won't bore you with anymore details there, so I spent most of the day running around Indianapolis to get things done, and I still have work to do!

On Tuesdays I thought I would share tips and/or techniques!
This is one is generation stamping and rock-n-roll!This technique can actually turn CTMH's 60 Exclusive colors of ink into 180! The stamps being used come from our Campin Fever Stamp Set and I am using Desert Sand Exclusive Ink Pad.

Generation stamping is how many times a you stamp from one inking. Such as this:

As you can see from the picture, the first generation is the most detailed and most colorful. The second generation lighter and less defined, and the third generation is so light it is barely there!
Now to make that third generation pop...take the same stamp and just rock n roll the edges on the ink pad. You don't want to pick up any ink in the center of the image. Once you have rock n rolled your stamp, do a first generation stamp on your second generation image. Now do a second generation stamp over your lightest third generation image. See how it makes the image come off the paper?!

Now do you really want to make it pop? Take a sentiment stamp and do a first generation inside the lightened area of the original third generation impression.

There you go, a new way to utilize your stamp pad inks and get the most bang for your buck!

If you use any of these techniques, don't be shy, share with me what you made! I would love to see your artwork!
Until next time,
Have a Blessed evening
&
Happy Scrappin!

Last Post for Sunday

Yes I promise this will be my last post today! I took the time this afternoon to sit with my husband and our very spoiled shih tzu Zeus outside just enjoying the weather, and our yard. I love being outdoors. I guess thats why I really despise winter so much. It's too cold to go out and do anything. I love the warm weather!!

To go along with my "camping, outdoors" theme today, I made 2 cute cards that coordinate with my layouts from earlier today. Both card recipes come from CTMH Wishes Card Card Program

For the both cards the products you will need are:

First Post For Sunday

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful, wonderful Sunday.
My husband Troy finally put our flag pole up and old Glory is waving beautifully in the light breeze outside.

I decided to do a double layout for my first post today. My husband and I are going on our first camping trip of the year in 2 weeks. I decided to go ahead and premake some layouts so I could just come home, print out the pix and add them to my scrapbook!

These are made with Close To My Heart Products. To get the recipe and directions for this double layout please contact me at: shellyford@myctmh.com These layouts were so simple to do! And I love the way they turned out, I cannot wait to go on our camping trip, not only for the sure fun of camping, but so I can add more memories of the time that we spend together!

While you are scrapbooking, I hope that you take the time to add YOU to your scrapbook layouts. I find that I'm the one on the "other" side of the camera pretty much of the time. Then I read an article that came out in our CTMH newsletter that made stand and pay attention. I have so many scrapbooks, but now that I think of it, I'm not sure all of them have much to do with ME. I take the pictures of everyone else, I enjoy that, but, the article was correct, how am I going to leave a legacy to my grandbabies if I don't put ME in the layouts as well.
So I have taken a vow to put more of ME in my layouts, I want my grandchildren and all future generations to be able to look back and say wow, Mammaw sure did some fun things and now we know all about her life!
So join me won't you? Take a vow today, that you will start putting more of YOU in your layouts. And please, don't be shy, share those memories with me. I would love to see what you scrapbook about!
Until next time,
Have a Blessed Day

Cut all papers needed first, this will make things go faster in the assembly process.
Also, you want to stamp the following and trim:
Using the Olive Ink pad stamp the leaf image from the Extreme Happiness Stamp set 3 times on the back of the the Leaf B&T Duos paper. This is sepearte from the 3x3 pc needed. Trim the leaves and set aside.
